Ignoring mental health makes no sense, business wise.
Currently, 1 in 5 Australian adults will experience a mental illness in any given year; and the costs to business can be significant. Mental ill health costs Australian workplaces $4.7 billion in absenteeism, $6.1 billion in presenteeism and $146 million in compensation claims per year.
Alarmingly, only 22% of full-time workers with signs of common mental illness will seek and receive treatment for their mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid training can assist your workplace in identifying and supporting individuals with mental health problems to receive professional help.
This course does not teach the skills of providing mental health first aid. It is an information session about Mental Health First Aid.
Should you wish to participate in this session, and subsequently book your workplace to attend the Mental Health First Aid course, let us know!
